Applewood Hills Plaza Revitalization
PROJECT 0.5
Location of Project – 1125 Bloor Street, Mississauga ON.
Timeline for Completion – November 2014 to June 2015
Maintaining Customer Accessibility
Sitzer Group of Companies contacted Promain to discuss necessary changes in pavement structure to accommodate the Shoppers Drug Mart extension. The Promain team scheduled a client meeting on site.
Following the initial consultation, Promain determined there were additional deteriorated areas that should be removed with the Shoppers Drug Mart extension while material, equipment and personnel were on-site.
Weather and tenant concerns led Promain to create a multi-phase project to be completed over multiple seasons.
Safety fencing, debris mesh and temporary entrances were set up on site to ensure facilities remained open, clean and dust free for tenant and pedestrian traffic. Promain Dedicated a team member for directing vehicle and pedestrian traffic safely.
Phase one included the removal of existing parking structures over three separate areas and installation of base asphalt coat to ensure the area would be suitable for snow and ice.
Phased projects keep businesses open to customers and ensure adequate parking is available and accessible.
To complete the balance of the project, the Promain team returned at the first sign of spring to pave the top coat of asphalt, layout and paint new parking lot markings and install required curbs and signs.
